Analysis Of Props

The Shining
Prop: Jack’s Axe

The axe from The Shining is a sinister weapon as is normally used to chop up wood into smaller pieces to be used in a fire burner, with the knowledge that the axe is dangerous then we know its going to hurt when you are going to be hit with this object as we can see from the picture above.
The axe is used in this film as the main weapon as it is an old axe that has been used well in its life by the dull marks on the long handle where other people have used this.

The axe creates tension by the way it is very long so it has a long reach so we know that it can get a victim if they are starting to run away as if he had used a small axe then it wouldn't be as scary as it is small but having the axe being longer, the character can build tension by his slowly swinging it above his head to come down really fast and hard we know its going to be hard as it is a 2 handed weapon to get the full use of the axe.

we are going to be using an axe in our opening sequence as it will be used a lot as it is on a farm so the farmer will have to chop up wood on a nearly day to a day to day bases .

Saw 4
Prop: Chair and Rope

In this scene you can see a guy hanging and a guy that has been tied to a chair , the guy that i tied to an ordinary chair that has been used as a restraining device as he can't move because he has also been tied down with rope that is normally used to things together but not humans so this is why it is effective as robe has been used to maked in to noose’s and they were designed to kill someone so rope is a very restraining if you are tied to something like a chair.
