What is a Pitch

Pitch

A pitch is a presentation of an idea for a film or TV series generally made by a screenwriter or director to a producer or studio executive in the hope of attracting development finance to pay for the writing of a screenplay.

The pitch must contain the main plot of the film or TV series but in our case it has to be a horror film, so we need the plot to be able to have an opening sequence. In my pitch i have a plot, location, characters, i think about the audience as well and inspiration to tell who you are trying to sell it to what it would be like or even better than the inspiration that you used.

Plot: The plot is most important part of every film as if you don't have a plot then you don't have a film, the plot is a sequence of events that relate to each other to create a story.

Location:  The location is a good thing to tell your investors as they could help or even like the idea of the location and the plot then your away if he/she don't like the characters then you could change it as you now have the money to fund the project.

Characters: The characters are important if they fit well with your plot and location that you have a associated them with if not then you can just change a few things to get the right characters for your project.

Audience : When talking about the audience you want to present your project to it i very important that you look at the BBFC classification for each age, do a questionnaire so you know the audience you intended it for and if you get the positive feed back that you predicted then you could show this research as well in the pitch.
